Wordless Wednesday: Widow's Cooking, take 2
The first "Widow's Cooking" post was one of my funnier ones and it was picked up by Aiming Low, the parenting blog of "no standards." (At least not for the parenting. I am pretty sure they're set for editorial.)
That post included a recipe for (edible) Widowed Potatoes. But these potatoes happened just last week, and I couldn't resist. Burned AND late -- what could be more widowed than that?
P.S. Here's a joke (if I didn't tell you, you wouldn't know): Do you know how many are in a Widow's Dozen? Eleven.

So am I the only person who initially thought these were chocolate biscuits??
I liked the joke "Widow's Dozen". I fear I have the same sense of humor as you.
Deararl, When I posted it on FB EVERYONE thought it was chocolate! You're normal!
Jo, I fear you may be right. We two are NOT normal. :-)
I thought they were pancakes... oops. Haha thanks for the chuckle though, much needed tonight
Love that joke. I'm totally stealing it.
Thanks. I'm so proud -- you didn't even use quotes around the word "joke" like I have to! :-)
Loved the "widow's dozen" funny... but had to explain that one to my (new) guy. He said, "Who's missing?" At least we CAN laugh about it.
LOL thought those were cookies. Thanks for your honesty snd humour x
I thought that charcoal is supposed to be good for the digestion.
Honestly, a bit of ketchup and nobody will know any different!
So depressed today. The 13 full moon since my husband's funeral last night....ugh...meanwhile, I read this and literally LOL!!! I thought they were cookies and it took me a minute to realize they were actually burned. So funny, and I couldn't tell you how many things I've burned on the BBQ this summer, my first time BBQ. It's almost embarrassing, but I laughed every time because I knew my husband was laughing his ass off at me. Thanks for the smile you gave me today. :)
